Corazones Unidos Siempre, Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Inc is the first independent Latin sorority,  was founded in 1980 at Rutgers University in New Jersey.

    The Alpha Lambda Chapter was founded at UNC Charlotte in the summer of 2004 thus being the first latin organization on campus.Since then, this chapter has been an exceptional Greek organization on campus. Alpha Lambda has won awards for programming, diversity, and community service; living by the words: Educating, Elevating, and Empowering Women since 1980.
